Scotland is one of the most popular and beautiful destinations in the world. It is famous for its breathtaking landscapes and beautiful weather to leave you perplexed the whole journey. This country has something in it for everyone and so does our list of top 10 things to do in Scotland. From man-made beauty to natural beauty, we have it all covered. Botanical gardens - Scotland is famous for its Botanical gardens such as Daywyck botanical garden in Scottish border, Royal botanic garden in Edinburgh, Logan Botanical garden which preserves the rich natural beauty and habitat. My favorite from the list has to be the Royal Botanical garden that is situated in the heart of the city, Edinburgh. A must visit for all nature lovers.

The Highlands - When you think of Scotland, you cant help but think about the Scottish Highlands. The Scottish Highlands is a unique combination of rich culture, breathtaking landscapes and romantic castles. You can never truly run out of things to do in the Highlands. Some of the must visit places in the highlands are the Lochaber Geopark, Inverness castle, Cairngorms National Park, Caithness, Moray Speyside, Ben Nevis and Loch Lomond.

Titan Clyde bank crane, West Dunbartonshire

Titan Clyde bank crane – The Titan is a century-old crane that has been transformed into a unusual and popular tourist attraction of Scotland. The Titan towers 150 ft over the Clyde. This is a 46 meters high crane which is designed for lifting heavy articles such as boilers and engines. The thing which is special about this crane is that it is the first crane in the world which was electrically powered and was used for building big ships in the 20th century. This spot was refurbished in the year 2007 and since then it has attracted millions of people all over the world.
Gaada Stack, Isle of Foula

Shetland - Shetland is a unique blend of contemporary meets traditional. One moment you can step back in time to admire the ancient ruins of the Viking history and the next you can be admiring the rare natural reserves in terms of its beaches, islands, sea stacks and spectacular wildlife. Shetland has some of the most well preserved archaeology in Europe. Infact the Shetland has been recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark as it narrates a story of the formation and evolution of the world over millions of years.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum, Glasgow

Kelvingrove museum – This museum is one of Scotland's most popular tourist spots. The museum sports around 8000 pieces of art that include natural history, arms and armor, art from many art movements and periods of history and much more. Based in Glasgow and is one of the most popular attraction in Scotland that you can visit for free. This museum has ‘Christ of St John of the Cross’. Sir Roger the Asian elephant, floating head of Sophie cave, several European artworks and french impressions.

George Square, Glasgow

George square – George Square is the principal civic square in Glasgow. It is named after King George III. George square is of the best historical place in Scotland which is the home of several statues, monuments dedicated to people like Sir Robert Peel, Robert Burns and even James Watt. This is a must visit place as it is one of the sixth squares located in the city centers spread over an area of around 2 Acres.

Urquhart Castle on the Loch Ness
Loch Ness - Scotland has over 30000 lochs or lakes all across the country. One of the most famous and the biggest loch in all of Scotland is the Loch Ness. This lake is shrouded with the legends of the Loch Ness monster lurking deep in the water. Aside from the conspiracy of Nessie, Loch Ness is also an incredible site for plenty of hidden gems such as the Plodda Falls, Fort Augustus, Farigaig forest and the Urquhart Castle. 

Clyde arc or Squinty Bridge, Glasgow

Clyde arc or squinty bridge – Clyde arc or squinty bridge is present on the River Clyde and is famous for its curvy design which is quite innovative. This bridge was opened in the year 2006 and is a perfect example of perfect engineering work and looks magnificent to open new gateways to the amazing city of Glasgow.

Glasgow Cathedral

Glasgow cathedral - The Glasgow cathedral is a medieval cathedral is thought to have been built on the site of St Kentigern’s tomb. This cathedral contains magnificent old sculptures, statues, and beautifully carved ceilings and marks the birthplace of Glasgow and have survived the 1560 Scottish reformation era. This cathedral is the oldest building in whole Scotland and is open for all. 

Portree, Isle of Skye

Isle of Skye: The Scottish islands are known all over the world for its picturesque scenery. The Isle of Skye is one such beautiful island connected to the northwest coast of Scotland. This island is known for its landscapes, picturesque fishing villages and medieval castles. Some of the must visit places in and around the isle of Skye are Trotternish Ridge, Mealt Falls, Portree village, the Old Man of Storr, Kilt Rock and the Quaraing.

  4. Scotland i have heard is pretty, but your photos give a real glimpse of how lovely this place is, and with so much to do too. I am literally waiting to start traveling again abroad and go see these places for real for myself :)

  8. Wow! Scotland has so much to offer to a tourist. It has such rich heritage and culture and the landscapes are breathtaking. Clyde arc or Squinty Bridge at Glasgow looks so amazing!! Recently a friend travelled to this beautiful country and he just cant stop talking about the Scottish Beers!!
